Tonight’s dinner: fresh-ground bacon beef short rib burger with grated Pecorino Romano cheese on a toasted brioche bun.
Summer Heat
As the temperature soars, Jiro prefers the cool indoors versus the steamy, sticky outdoors.
Tapas Night
First time at VASO Rooftop Restaurant at AC Hotel Dublin was quite a lovely experience. Food was great (tapas!) and the ambiance was unbeatable. Definitely worth many return trips!
Baked Treats
A custard-filled Cruffin, a bi-color Matcha croissant, a sweet cinnamon chocolate croissant, and a cappuccino to wake things up from Dan The Baker’s Toast Bar. Perfect Saturday morning breakfast fare.
Boodle Fight
Filipino food in Columbus, OH! Tonight’s dinner was not only fantastic, it was also so much fun!

More Sun-Chasing Shenanigans
Jiro continues to chase the sun throughout the house all day.
Today at Breakfast Club
Wild sockeye salmon eggs benedict, lemon-drizzled greens, and millionaire’s bacon.
Evening Walk on the Longest Day of the Year
Probably the most humid as well.
Sun Lover
Jiro loves the sun. He’s learned to drag his bed to the spot wherever the sun is coming into the house at the time. And when it moves to the other end of the house later in the day, he just moves over to where it is and flops down on the floor.
Today at Breakfast Club
The ‘elevated’ egg sandwich, with sides of potatoes and millionaire’s maple-candied bacon.
Guiding Light
The FINAL final touch to my spring time house number pillar project: a solar-powered LED spot light to help direct visitors at night.
Spa Day
Sometimes, my feet get a treat.
Marble Rock
The final touch to my spring time house number pillar project: a bed of white marble rock to dress it all up.
Yakiniku at Home
A little bit of Korean-style BBQ on my Japanese-style tabletop charcoal grill ("shichirin").
A Lazy Kind of Sunday
Sunflower Clock
The George Nelson Sundlower Clock arrived today. Straight up on the fireplace wall it went.

Memorial Day BBQ
Beef short ribs and pork baby backs low and slow in the Big Green Egg today.

Roasted Bone Marrow
Whole Foods doesn’t always have these but they had them today and I couldn’t help myself. Seasoned simply with sea salt, fresh ground black pepper, and EVOO. In the oven at 450 degrees and out in 15 minutes. Perfect with some capers and a splash of fresh squeezed lemon juice on toast.
Yakitori at Home
Trying out the new Japanese-style charcoal grill box with some homemade yakitori.

Crazy Dog
New toy, destroyed toy.
