Mundanely interesting … today

Scenes from my near 28-hr travel day from Manila to Columbus, via Incheon (Seoul, South Korea) and Detroit. Since I cannot sleep on a plane, I was awake for nearly 48 hours, considering I left at 11:30pm from Manila after having been awake since 7am that morning. Ugh, the struggle is real.

City traffic and the tropical heat give way to the milder breezes and rice fields of Central Luzon as we drive up north towards the Cordillera Mountains and finally, the cooler temps of the City of Pines, Baguio City, the summer capital of the Philippines.

Touchdown Philippines! A misty, steamy, and rainy Manila greeted me upon arrival at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA). And so begins a month-long visit to the motherland!
